Information Technology (IT): The Nifty IT index emerged as the biggest loser, dropping 4.2%. 

Automobile and Media: Both sectors faced significant declines, with Nifty Auto and Nifty Media indices each losing over 3.4%. 

Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) Banks: The Nifty PSU Bank index decreased by 2.8%, indicating reduced investor confidence in this segment. 

Notable Stock Movements:

Reliance Industries Ltd.: The stock rose by 3.18% to ₹1,249.10, outperforming competitors such as Gujarat State Petronet Ltd. and GAIL (India) Ltd., which saw declines of 1.86% and 2.06%, respectively. 

State Bank of India (SBI): Shares of SBI inched up by 0.11% to ₹732.75, outperforming the general market trend. 

NTPC Ltd.: The stock declined by 2.49% to ₹329.35, underperforming its competitors.
